DETAILS
All Your Colours is a seven week specialised online art therapy group designed to support individuals at any stage of their eating disorder recovery.
Over the seven weeks, participants will be guided through creative exercises that draw upon Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems, helping to welcome, explore and communicate their inner experiences in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space.
Through art-making and reflection, this therapeutic practice encourages self-discovery, emotional regulation and the development of inner resources to aid the process of recovery.
With a maximum of 6 participants, each session provides a contained and intimate environment to ensure individual attention and group safety.
Join us, as we together embrace all of your colours with compassion and creativity.
THE ART PART:
Art-making is a powerful tool in All Your Colours because it allows us to express complex emotions, thoughts, and experiences that can be challenging to put into words. In eating disorder recovery, self-expression and self-understanding are key, and creating art provides a non-verbal pathway to explore these aspects in a way that feels safe and gentle.
Using art helps us connect with different parts of ourselves, including vulnerable or suppressed emotions, in a way that feels more approachable. By working with imagery, colors, and textures, we can bypass the cognitive filters that often make verbal expression difficult, especially in recovery contexts. Art becomes a mirror, allowing you to see aspects of your experience they may not have fully recognized or accepted.
In this course, art-making is also deeply integrated with Polyvagal Theory and Internal Family Systems. Through guided art exercises, you are encouraged to tune into their body’s signals, connect with "parts" of themselves (such as the critical inner voice or the self-compassionate voice), and create a dialogue between these parts. This process helps in developing self-regulation skills and fostering a compassionate relationship with oneself, which are both essential elements of healing.
